Camp Invention is back at again for all incoming Kindergarten through 6th grade students! In Claw Arcade ™ Children build their very own functional claw machines complete with prizes as they explore the world of physics and mechanics. Along the way, they discover the biology of claws, talons, and pincers, and they mimic how animals use these external parts to help them survive, grow, and meet their needs. After exploring entrepreneurial principles and crafting marketing strategies, they pitch their arcade ideas to hook investors and secure funding for their claw arcades.

🌸 Our elementary students dove into the magical world of Millie Fleur’s Poison Garden and were so inspired, they created their very own flower gardens! 🌼🌿 After exploring the enchanting (and slightly mysterious) pages of the book, they brought their imaginations to life with colorful blooms and creative designs. Reading + gardening = the perfect spring combo! 🌷📚

Get ready for a wild and wonderful musical adventure as our youngest performers bring the animal world to life through song and movement! From the jungle to the ocean, these little stars are ready to roar, chirp, and sing their hearts out! 🎶✨

This week, the TK classroom explored the roles of authors and illustrators while also learning about the letter Q. Winterset’s very own author, Phyllis Kaldenberg, visited as a special guest speaker. She shared her journey of writing and publishing several books and arrived dressed as the “Queen of the Quilts” to celebrate the letter Q!
Mrs. Kaldenberg read The Quilt That Gave a Hug and taught students about quilt design and creation. They also learned about her heartfelt mission of donating quilts to the neonatal unit at the hospital.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Kaldenberg for sharing her time, knowledge, and generosity! The TK classroom is grateful for the gift of her three books. What a fun and inspiring day of learning!
