Ever get 60 degrees in February and feel like the school won the weather lottery? ☀️ We extended lunch yesterday, opened the track, and let the kids get some fresh air — walking, laughing, and soaking up sunshine. Then we threw down a friendly footrace challenge... and big shoutout to Rush Smith for beating Mr. Sussman! 🏃‍♂️🏆 Mr. Sussman handled it with grace (and maybe a little sore pride). 😂

Today we were honored to welcome Vietnam veterans into our classroom to share their personal stories of service with our students. Hearing these firsthand experiences brought history to life in a powerful way. Thank you to our veterans for serving our country and for helping our students learn through your stories and experiences. 🇺🇸

👏 Our 7th graders at Winterset Junior High are turning learning into action!
This year, students studying global hunger decided they wanted to do more than learn — they want to help. All 7th graders will take part in a meal‑packing event with Meals From the Heartland ❤️ to package 20,000 meals that will feed people in Iowa, across the U.S., and around the world. 🌎

👉 We need to raise $3,500 to make this happen (Meals From the Heartland covers the rest). Any additional funds will be donated to hunger‑relief organizations chosen by students—who will research, rate, and decide where the money goes.

Your support does more than provide meals — it empowers students to learn, lead, and serve. Every dollar helps. Thank you for helping our students make a real difference. 🙏 WJH Meals From the Heartland Donation Link

Dallas Center-Grimes Jazz Festival results
🏆Big congrats to the Junior High Jazz Band for finishing 1st place in the JH/MS class this past weekend at the Dallas Center-Grimes Jazz Festival! 🎶 There were seven bands that competed that day in their class. Even more impressive was the fact that every single soloist received an Outstanding Soloist certificate (Resmay L, McKenzie B, Marcus O, Lauren H, Lydia B, Gigi G, Reese K, Korbyn S, Creighton M, Charlie B, Graham B, and Adley G). Congrats, jazz band!👏
