Mrs. Kerr's 8th graders are doing incredible work! Using the Scrum Project Management Process, they are tackling complex projects and sharpening two key Profile of a Graduate skills:

We believe learning goes beyond the classroom, and our Passion Activities are proof! This week, our students dove deep into their interests alongside dedicated teachers and staff. We saw incredible engagement, from coding to community service, art to athletics.
The halls were buzzing with excitement as students explored new skills, connected with peers, and built strong relationships with their teachers. These activities are more than just hobbies—they're a chance for our students to discover their passions and develop a stronger sense of community.
A huge thank you to our staff for leading these enriching sessions and to our amazing students for bringing their enthusiasm and energy! What a great way to kick off the year!

Today, we took our entire student body and staff to Wildwood Hills Horse Ranch for a day dedicated to building relationships, creating connections, and reinforcing what it means to be the Best Junior High in Iowa.
Our students were amazing, tackling a variety of hands-on activities including High Ropes, Archery, Lake Activities, Horseback Riding, and Field Sports. They also participated in informational sessions to learn more about our school community and what we stand for.
A huge shoutout to everyone who made this day possible!

What a great first day at Winterset Junior High! We were so excited to give all our students a first-class welcome and start the new school year off right.
It was wonderful seeing so many smiling and enthusiastic faces back in the hallways. We're looking forward to an amazing year full of learning, growth, and fun!

WJH Family Engagement Night was a BLAST! 🚀 What an incredible evening! Thank you to all the families, students, teachers, and community members who came out to the WCSD 2025-26 Family Engagement Night. It was so great to see so many of you enjoying the fun. ❤️
From the bouncy house 🏰 and rock climbing wall 🧗 to the hot dog dinner 🌭 and the epic color run 🎉, the energy was absolutely contagious! Your support is what makes our school community so special, and we're excited to continue this momentum all year long. 💯
