Today marked the last day of Passion Activities during WIN, and what a great way to end! ☀️ Students had the opportunity to play outside, work on the yearbook, spend time in the gym, enjoy card games, or simply relax with a good book. It was fantastic to see so many students soaking up the nice weather and engaging in activities they enjoy.

Today, we had the privilege of taking close to 100 students to Graham’s Café to celebrate their incredible work at the Authentic Learning Showcase! These students put in the time, effort, and creativity to share their projects with our community, and we couldn’t be more proud.
As a token of appreciation, all presenters enjoyed a pizza lunch and received a "Best Junior High in Iowa" drawstring bag! 🖤💛

Last night, our 5th-12th grade band students put on an unforgettable performance at Band-O-Rama! From middle school to junior high to high school, our talented musicians shined on stage, showcasing their dedication, hard work, and passion for music.
🎺🥁🎷 The Winterset Community School District’s tradition of musical excellence continues, and last night was a perfect example of that. Every band sounded fantastic! 👏👏👏

The Winterset Boys & Girls Track programs invite all 3rd-8th grade students to a 4-day Speed & Agility Clinic over Spring Break! This camp is open to ALL young athletes looking to improve speed, acceleration, and agility—not just track athletes!
📍 Location: Winterset High School Competition Gym
📅 Dates: March 17-20 (Monday-Thursday of Spring Break)
⏰ Times:
• 3rd-5th Grade: 5:00-6:00 PM
• 6th-8th Grade: 6:00-7:00 PM

🚀 Spotlight on iJAG at Winterset Junior High! 🚀
This year, we introduced iJAG (Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates) as a 7th and 8th grade exploratory course, led by the incredible Mrs. Jessica Vandewater! 👏 In its first year at WJH, iJAG has provided students with hands-on experiences in career readiness, leadership development, and community service, helping them explore potential career paths and build essential life skills.
Through engaging activities and real-world learning, students are gaining the confidence and tools they need for a successful transition into high school and beyond. 🎯 We’re proud to offer programs like iJAG that support our mission of college, career, and life readiness for all students! 💡

📢 Authentic Learning in Action! 🍎🥦👨🍳
Mrs. Devine’s Health students are taking their learning beyond the classroom and into the real world! As part of an authentic learning project, students used MyPlate to design a nutritious, well-balanced meal. But they didn’t stop there! They created eye-catching Canva flyers to market their meals, and after a round of voting, the winning meals were actually served in our cafeteria!
To make this project even more meaningful, Mrs. Devine partnered with our Food Service Director, who spoke with students about meal planning and nutrition. NOW, students are putting their skills to the test—heading to Fareway to shop for ingredients for the meal they’ll prepare and serve at our Authentic Learning Showcase!
This is real-world learning at its best—students engaging in critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving while making an impact on their community. We can’t wait to see (and taste!) the results! 🍽️👏
