Student safety doesn’t just involve keeping students safe at school. Every day, we transport hundreds of students to and from school on 11 bus routes. Keeping students safe begins when we pick them up in the morning until we return them home in the afternoon. Our bus drivers take this responsibility very seriously. Recently, we have seen an increase in the number of drivers not stopping when the stop arm is out and speeding by our buses while they are picking up/dropping off students - putting our students at risk. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words - please watch the video which contains footage from our district’s bus cameras. Several cars are shown violating the law by passing a stopped school bus with their stop sign out. It takes everyone to keep our students safe; please help share this message and work to keep our students safe.
